GETTING AROUND

The apartment is perfectly located for sightseeing, only a few minutes walk (700m) to the Ponte Vecchio, Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio, and the rest of central Florence. Via Tornabuoni, a boutique shopping street with Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, and others, is located even closer to the apartment, just 350m away from the front door.

You can easily walk around most of Florence and a car is not necessary. For slightly further trips, a taxi stand is located just 100m from the apartment, and the Santa Maria Novella train station is 700m away. All major car rental companies are also represented by offices in Borgo Ognissanti - 300m away.

Guests that have a car are recommended to reserve a car parking space at a garage (see Arrivals).

ARRIVALS

Guests arriving at Florence Airport will find the apartment an easy 20-minute taxi or tram ride away. Guests arriving at other airports will most likely travel to Florence by train. The Santa Maria Novella train station is located 700m from the apartment. Taxis are available at the Station, however, it is an easy walk.

The apartment is a loft apartment located on the third floor. As such, guests should expect an easy 68 steps on a wide stair-case.

For those guests arriving by car, the apartment is located within the Florence Traffic Limited Zone (ZTL). As such, you will either need to park outside the ZTL or park in one of the parking garages located a few steps from the apartment. We have a negotiated rate at Garage Quick Centrale on Via dei Fossi which have a guaranteed space for you and a rate of €25 per night, just mention "Casa Amici".

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

The City of Florence by resolution of the City Council requires all non-residents of the City of Florence over 12 years of age to pay a "tourist tax" per person per night up to a maximum of 7 nights. The tourist tax will be collected at check-in in cash.

Italian law also requires us to register all guests within 24 hours of arrival with local police. Therefore, we will require a copy of your identification documents for all guests at check-in (Decree of the Interior Ministry Official Gazette No. 14 of January 17 2013).

All guests are charged a cleaning fee per booking.
